Run, Turkey, Run

For the last three months, several of my neighbors and I have been planning our neighborhood 5K Turkey Trot. It was a really fun race with music, lots of prizes, and Uncle Jordy won first place in his age group. Andrew helped me time the race finishers, and by help, I mean he stuffed his face with bananas, bagels, and cinnamon rolls.

Uncle Jordy has been training for the Honolulu Marathon, so he ran a great race.

Here I am with the official race turkey.

Here is Uncle Jordy racing to the finish.

The first place finishers won a homemade pumpkin pie.
It was scrumptious!

The funniest part of the morning was when I took Andrew's picture because I thought it was funny that he was in such a "daze" in his chair holding his balloon. After I took the picture, I kept talking to him for several minutes with no response, and so I walked over to take off his sunglasses to have him acknowledge me. When I took off his glasses, he jumped because I woke him up. He was so tired from such a busy race morning, that he had fallen asleep sitting up holding his balloon. It was hilarious.
